This pair Nike Air force 1, designed by Zachary Suchin, is dubbed the “Brand Knew” pair (named after his digital media firm). Additionally, the heel panel is comprised of a shiny grey patent leather, while the toe area, midfoot and Swoosh is done up in grey linen. The predominance of the base is constructed of a never-before-seen patent buffed material in dark blue. Other features include pink accents (Nike branding, second layer of Swoosh, sole stitching), grey laces, grey elephant print (inner lining, tongue) and a Brand Knew lasered logo on the lace shield/medallion.
Bouncing off the release of last year’s Zig Slash, Reebok looks to further their basketball lineup with the ThermalVibe. A wavy midsole alludes to their trademark tech offering lighter, more responsive cushioning. Large Vector branding dominates the upper relying mostly on leather. These have surfaced overseas with a US release likely.
The Japanese super retailers called on a much more subtle, but equally catchy, colorway for its next sneaker with ASICS. atmos is known for being pretty outrageous with its collaborative kicks. Well, times, they are a changin’. The Gel-Lyte III will keep its momentum going this October with this black suede and metallic gold build. atmos’ cosmic branding is continued on the speckled midsole. Expect a limited Japanese drop, but pray for some stateside.

As we expected at the beginning of this year, Nike’s new Fuse technology has taken over this summer. Nike has incorporated Fuse on just about every silhouette including the Nike Air Max 1, the Air Max 90, the Air Force 1 and the Dunk. Photos of the entire Nike “Hyperfuse” Collection have surfaced on the web. Some of these sneakers released already; however, we are still awaiting the release of a few others in this collection. Converse’s Coastal Carnage weekend brought more than just sick skating to Huntington Beach. In back to back years, Converse skater Tom Remillard has taken the podium at Coastal Carnage. Was the fix in for 2011? Hardly; the San Diegan is just that good. And to make repeating even more unlikely, he had to outskate legends Lance Mountain, Tony Hawk and Christian Hosoi, as well as the fleet of younger skaters after the $15,000 prize. It’s hard out there for a champ.
