Back in March we previewed the Nike Air Max Penny 1 “Ripstop”, and have now acquired some new photos to bring to you guys. Since pictures initially released, fans have shown quite a bit of interest, as ripstop nylon isn’t a typical material for a basketball shoe.
This version of Penny Hardaway’s signature shoe takes on the “all black everything” look, and is constructed from a combination of ripstop nylon and leather. The Nike swoosh is constructed from sort of hard plastic, while the heel incorporates Nike’s classic air max sole into it. Word is that these are slated to hit Nike accounts sometime in the near future. Stay tuned in to KicksOnFire for more details as they surface.
Available now via select accounts including Finishline is this new colorway in the Mike Free Zilla. Rounding out the look are white contrasts on the Nike swoosh and sole, which incorporates Nike’s free technology into it. As previously mentioned, you can pick these up now at Finishline. Packing more sound skills than some actual keyboards, Biz Markie rose from a teenage beat box sensation to one of the most recognizable, and loved, characters in hip-hop. The MC, much like PRO-Keds, planted his roots in the New York underground and came up through the ranks, making the connection between Biz and the brand very natural. This pair of collaborative 69er Los wears an Olive/White leather colorway and sports Biz branding on the tongue and liner. Available now, check for this ultra limited pair of sneaks at select retailers.

The latest installment of Louis Vuitton’s Core Values Campaign features actress and UN Goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie.
Angelina agreed to be captured by famous photographer Annie Leibowitz for the campaign in Cambodia, a country which she first visited in 2000 for her role as Lara Croft and later returned on humanitarian missions, raising awareness of the dangers of landmines. She subsequently adopted her first child, Maddox, from a Cambodia orphanage.
The striking capture shows Jolie sitting in a traditional wooden boat in the province of Siem Reap, alongside her vintage Louis Vuitton Monogram Alto Holdall, a bag she has owned for many years.
Sometime, man bags don’t look a whole lot different than those made for us ladies – the colors are more neutral and the details are a tad more masculine, but with a line like Balenciaga or Gucci, most of the bags made for men could be most accurately described as unisex. As an alternative, I’ve chosen the delightfully masculine Alfred Dunhill Side Car Briefcase for this week’s Man Bag Monday. This design is a gentleman’s work bag, through and through.
If you look at pictures of the Alexander Wang Fall 2011 show or read our recap of the accessories, you may have noticed something: There weren’t any handbags. Instead, Wang debuted his first collection of small leather goods on his fall catwalk. Starting this Friday at 6 a.m. New York time, that collection is going to be available to the public for one day only, exclusively through a very special partner.
As the Coach brand expands rapidly, offering everything from the youthful Poppy line to the more refined Kristen collection, many fans of the brand still yearn for the Coach Classics. To many, a “classic Coach bag” might mean the small signature Demi Pouch, but the brand became known for their simple and refined leather Heritage collection in the 1970s, long before its logo fabric became a signature touch.
With the current 70s trend in full swing, NET-A-PORTER Buying Director Holli Rogers felt it was the perfect moment to bring back some of the original Coach designs and introduce them to a new generation of women. The five bags of the Coach Classics Collection will be exclusively carried at shopshomes and are sure to sell out quickly.
Seasons come and seasons go, but in the fashion world, Celine is still the must-have bag for people who are interested in a bag’s must-haveness. The brand only has one US boutique at the moment (although it’s opening a New York City location in the coming months) and the bags are distributed through ultra-prestigious retailers in extremely small numbers. For my Spring 2011 Celine Luggage Tote in lipstick red, I sat on the Kirna Zabete waiting list for three long months after paying for the bag in full, sight-unseen. And I’m glad I did, because none of them ever made it to KZ’s sales floor.
Pre-season pictures of Celine’s designs are almost as difficult to find as the bags themselves, which is why I squealed in delight when Elle Creative Director Joe Zee tweeted this picture of Celine Resort 2012 Handbags yesterday morning during a market week appointment. Neons! Exotics! Is that blue crocodile I see? I’m calling Kirna Zabete to reserve my chartreuse Luggage Tote as we speak. Click for a larger view.
I’ve heaped a good bit of criticism onto Valentino and its design duo of Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli in the past, and I’m not the only person in the industry who has some questions about the direction of the brand and the aesthetic merit of the pieces it’s turning out. Particularly when you consider that the duo are accessories designers by trade, the bags have been a bit disappointing.
But every now and then, the brand still shows that it knows how to get things done. The Valentino Aphrodite Python Bag is all that it should be – ladylike, luxurious, on-trend and extremely elegant.
Charles Barkley is one of the most decorated NBA players to have never won a championship ring. Though he took 3 different teams to the Playoffs including the Suns to the NBA Finals, Sir Charles was never able to walk away with the Larry O’Brien Championship trophy. One great accomplishment that cannot be forgotten is Barkley’s two Gold Medals while leading Team USA at Barcelona in ’92 and at home in the Atlanta Games in ’96. In both Gold Medal runs he lead the Dream Team in points and also led the team in rebounds in Atlanta.
Without debate, the Dream Team was the best team that Barkley ever suited up for and arguably the best team ever composed in sports history. To honor Barkley’s achievement with the Dream Team, Nike produced a collection of four Air Force Ones in gold and Team USA colors.
The anchor of the collection is the Supreme Air Force 1 mid that is somewhat of a hybrid of the Air Force 180 – the shoe Barkley wore in Barcelona. Nike replaced the tongue with that of the Air Force 180 and added the famous “FORCE” logo across the strap. Speckled gold accents on the midsole not only catch the eye but also are a parallel to the Air Force 180.

One youth goes to forsee tellers, the forsee teller Mogu physiognomy figured out what character,he says, you will fall in love in twenty, twenty-five-year-old married, have children in three-year-old , wealth and peace and a happy family life, worry-free old age. After people get scared of this anger, and said: I am thirty years old already, Ph.D., bachelor, and never find a love. Mr. heard, thought for one min and said: "Young people, knowledge, change the fate of ah."
With a new season of basketball started and the year winding down, we believe that we have news of the last Kobe II’s to release. The Kobe II was the first Kobe shoe to have 2 versions – the Kobe II and the Kobe II ST. These ST’s were dressed in Black and Baroque Brown with a gum sole. Limited to only 150 pairs and only releasing in Hong Kong, don’t expect scooping these to be a walk in the park. does have several pairs starting at $175. If you want to wait, I am sure eBay sellers will be looking to flip them for more given the limited numbers.
Though Reebok was the first company to sign a hip hop artist to create a signature shoe, Sketchers sub-brand 310 Motoring has been actively involved with expanding their line to include signature models by hip hop artists. With the success of The Game’s album Documentary 310 signed him to create a shoe called “The Hurricane”. Though not a hit with sneaker connoisseur, the shoes still have been a decent seller.
310 Motoring has also signed NaS who has been a long time fan of Nike Air Force Ones and was one of the legendary hip hop artists who performed at the Air Force 1 25th Anniversary party. His new signature shoe definitely has some design elements that are very similar to the Nike Air Force 1, but of all shoes that look like Air Force Ones, these are honestly one of the better done shoes. The shoe, the Disciple II, is available now at 310 retailers for $83.95.
<>Last week we posted the Air Force Ones chosen by NikeiD VIPs including AF1 king DJ Clark Kent. The computer generated renderings definitely did not do the shoes an ounce of justice. From the photos you can see why these Air Force Ones were selected. Available now for $300 at Flight Club NY.>
<>Boston based Bodega hooked up with Converse to create a “jacked up” Converse Jack Purcell high. The Jack Purcell was treated with premium quality brown leather and lined with a warm yet appealing lumber jack plaid. The shoes are trimmed out with the plaid on the exterior as well as feature some boot style red laces that loop through boot like metal eyelets. Along with the Trustafarian plaid “streetwear” gear you grabbed as soon as all over T-shirts didn’t match the season, you can complete the whole set with a Lumber Jack plaid fitted. This package will release exclusively at Bodega in Boston, Wood Wood in Berlin and Copenhagen, and ACU in Shanghai this Saturday,

Only a few months ago Run Athletics celebrated with style the release of their official collaboration with video game giant Nintendo. This was a big move and a giant step for this young brand who has some more goods coming around the bend.
Run Athletics was gracious enough to send us sample shots of two upcoming shoes for their Spring/Summer 2008 collection. The pair on the left, the Run Athletics 68 edition, is inspired from early 90′s running shoes. Black based shoe with bright colors and a speckled midsole add enough flare to keep your job at Chotchkie’s (see Office Space). The Legacy Low (right) brings something new to the table with stripes on the rear panel.

The shoes are $150 and are limited to two per household. The Air Jordan 15 Black/Red will only be available to Flight Club members.
