Charles Barkley “Dream Team” Air Force Ones

Charles Barkley is one of the most decorated NBA players to have never won a championship ring.Â Though he took 3 different teams to the Playoffs including the Suns to the NBA Finals, Sir Charles was never able to walk away with the Larry O’Brien Championship trophy. One great accomplishment that cannot be forgotten is Barkley’s two Gold Medals while leading Team USA at Barcelona in ’92 and at home in the Atlanta Games in ’96.Â In both Gold Medal runs he lead the Dream Team in points and also led the team in rebounds in Atlanta.
Without debate, the Dream Team was the best team that Barkley ever suited up for and arguably the best team ever composed in sports history.Â To honor Barkley’s achievement with the Dream Team, Nike produced a collection of four Air Force Ones in gold and Team USA colors.
The anchor of the collection is the Supreme Air Force 1 mid that is somewhat of a hybrid of the Air Force 180 – the shoe Barkley wore in Barcelona.Â Nike replaced the tongue with that of the Air Force 180 and added the famous “FORCE” logo across the strap.Â Speckled gold accents on the midsole not only catch the eye but also are a parallel to the Air Force 180.
