Thanks to Scene, a shop skate in the UK, we have some clear, crisp photos of the controversial Cheech & Chong SB Dunks. The left sneaker takes after Chong with graphics on the heel resembling his signature red bandana, and the right sneaker echo’s Cheech with a ribbed, red wool-like material similar to his red skullcap.
Honoring Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong, the pot-smoking comedy duo of the 1980s known for staring in movies like “Up In Smoke”, the sneakers feature a white canvas upper which tears away to reveal a long-hair green suede once they begin to get scuffed up from skating in. The two-layer construction is meant to resemble a joint with the top white layer representing the paper and the green underlay representing the, well, you should get the picture by now.Furthermore, a stash pocket is included on the backside of the tongue and two sets of laces, one in black and another in green come included with the shoes.
The Nike SB Dunk High “Cheech & Chong” is scheduled to release as a quickstrike through select Nike SB retailers on April 20th, 2011 – better known as 420 to the tokers out there.
