Sanrio BAPE Bapesta “Hello Kitty”
For 35-years, Hello Kitty has been a highlight of Japanese popular culture, at times being considered the official, fictional character of Japan. Using Hello Kitty’s signature colors, the patent leather Bapesta features a red and white base with accents of light blue on the BAPE star logo, BAPE stamp on the midsole and on the outsole. Sanrio, the Japanese company responsible for producing Hello Kitty is constantly working on collaborative products to give the brand greater prominence. For one of their most recent projects, Sanrio reached out to fellow Land of the Rising Sun native, A Bathing Ape, to put together a highly limited Bapesta.A graphic of Hello Kitty and Baby Milo hand-in-hand is shown on the heel of the right sneaker, while the left sneakers includes an image of Hello Kitty’s trademark hair bow.
