Rune Glifberg’s no stranger to winning. The living legend has more than his fair share of X-Games golds and Slam City titles, big name sponsors and of course, signature skate shoes. Somehow, he found time to work on his third venture with Converse’s CONS Skate brand: the Ballard. It won’t release until next year, but the Star Chevron team has readied a solid signature for Copenhagen’s finest.
The Ballard features, in standard Converse form, a simple overall design and board feel-friendly vulcanized sole. One of the details you might overlook at first glance is the tucked-under midfoot panel. This piece tucks and is sewn to forefoot area of the upper, adding not only a sleek aesthetic but considerable durability. Other features include a padded tongue and collar and leather details throughout. Like Rune himself, this 2012 drop is one thing you won’t regret putting your money on.
